Rumors are circulating about the upcoming launch of Samsung’s next rugged smartphone, potentially named the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro. This device is expected to continue the legacy of durability associated with the XCover series, adhering to the U.S. military’s MIL-STD-810H endurance standard. Additionally, it may feature an IP68 rating, ensuring water and dust resistance. The new XCover is anticipated to come equipped with a substantial 4,350mAh battery, capable of 15W wired fast charging.
The display is rumored to be a 6.6-inch LCD, which remains consistent with previous models, including the XCover 7 and XCover 6 Pro. In terms of photography, the device could include a 50MP primary camera paired with an 8MP ultrawide lens, while the front-facing camera is suggested to be 13MP. It is expected to run One UI 7 software. The price point for the XCover 7 Pro is speculated to be around €599, approximately $654, with hints that it could launch in Europe soon.
However, there has been no mention of a global release, particularly for U.S. consumers. Early leaks did surface in October, suggesting that Samsung was working on two Pro models, including both a phone and a tablet. The phone linked to these rumors was identified by the model number SM-G766B, initially believed to be the “XCover 8 Pro.” However, the latest rumors indicate that the marketing strategy may be shifting, with the XCover 7 Pro emerging instead.
As speculation continues, many tech enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating this release, which is projected for mid-2025, keeping with the trend of offering removable batteries that characterize the XCover line.
