Honor has launched two new AI-powered smartphones, the Honor 400 5G and Honor 400 Pro 5G, designed to enhance photo quality. These models aim to compete with Samsung’s Galaxy A56 while offering features that elevate photography to new heights. Both phones feature a remarkable 200MP main camera, but the Pro model goes further with AI Super Zoom capabilities that reach up to 50x.
The use of a 1/1.4-inch sensor in the Pro allows for stunning images, enhanced by Google Cloud’s “AI Image to Video” feature that transforms still photos into dynamic video clips. Additionally, users can create engaging Moving Photo Collages by merging up to nine live shots into one seamless video. The devices are loaded with an impressive array of creative AI tools.
These include AI Eraser, AI Outpainting, and AI Reflection Removal, making it easier to achieve professional-grade photos with minimal effort. The Honor 400 series operates on MagicOS 9.0, integrating Google’s Gemini AI for smart features like live translation and AI writing tools. On the hardware front, the Honor 400 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor with 12GB of RAM, and a robust 5,300mAh battery that charges to 50% in just 15 minutes.
The AMOLED display supports a peak brightness of 5000 nits, and the Pro’s 120Hz refresh rate ensures smooth performance during gaming. In contrast, the standard model utilizes a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip. Both phones boast impressive durability, with the Pro rated IP68 and IP69 for water and dust resistance.
The Honor 400 starts at £400 for the 256GB version, while the Pro begins at £700 for the 12GB + 512GB model. Honor also commits to providing six years of Android security and software updates, ensuring longevity for users.
