OPPO has announced a significant enhancement in its partnership with Google Gemini for its upcoming Reno 14 series. This integration aims to facilitate seamless “multi-app” experiences, enabling users to navigate between various OPPO applications with ease. The integration will allow Gemini to work across key applications such as Calendar, Notes, and the Clock, streamlining tasks and improving user convenience. In a recent press release, OPPO highlighted its commitment to extending on-device AI capabilities through this collaboration.
Kai Tang, OPPO’s president of software engineering, emphasized that the integration of Google Gemini into OPPO’s core apps will empower users to execute complex actions using simple natural language queries. This advancement is expected to significantly enhance the overall user experience. One of the most exciting features teased is the ability for users to instruct Gemini to complete intricate tasks that involve multiple applications. For instance, users can request Gemini to summarize a document and save those condensed notes within the OPPO Notes app.
Additionally, the capabilities of Gemini will extend to analyzing YouTube videos, where it can extract crucial steps from recipe tutorials for easy reference. As OPPO moves closer to enhancing its AI offerings, the Reno 14 series will provide a suite of integrated applications, including Calendar and Clock alongside Notes. OPPO regards this development as a noteworthy milestone in its journey toward improved on-device AI assistance. This builds on previous innovations, such as the AI Center introduced in 2024, which brought generative AI tools to previous device models, enabling users to edit photos and create multimodal content.
With ongoing advancements and regular AI updates in collaboration with Google, OPPO is steadily working to enhance the capabilities and convenience of its devices, ensuring users receive the best possible experience with their technology.
