Google has announced the rollout of the June 2025 security update for Pixel phones and Pixel Watch devices. This update includes crucial fixes targeting biometric and cellular issues. It aligns with the stable release of Android 16 for Google Pixel phones, as well as the latest Pixel Feature Drop.
The security update is tailored for Pixel phones operating on Android 15 and impacts all Pixel Watch models, except for LTE-enabled versions in Japan and Singapore. The update is labelled as version BP2A.250605.031.A2 for Pixel 6 and newer models, while the Pixel 9 Pro Fold receives a slightly different build number, BP2A.250605.031.A3. This update addresses a total of 34 vulnerabilities, comprising 18 security patches and 16 issues specific to Pixel devices.
Users are encouraged to apply the update promptly to benefit from the security enhancements. Major bug fixes included in this patch target biometrics, display, graphics, camera functionality, and cellular connections. Additionally, the Pixel Watch update introduces new features, such as customized Google Home controls specifically for the watch and the capability for fast public transit payments, even when the Google Wallet app is not open.
This patch bears the build number BW1A.250605.004, applicable to all versions of the Pixel Watch. Unfortunately, users of LTE-equipped models in Japan and Singapore will receive their update in the forthcoming weeks.
