Nothing is set to launch its next flagship device, the Phone 3, in the United States and Canada. This marks a significant moment for the company as it seeks to capture a larger share of the North American smartphone market, which is predominantly controlled by a couple of major players. Carl Pei, the CEO of Nothing, expressed confidence during a recent interview, emphasizing the company’s long-term vision and the importance of this launch.
The Phone 3 will be available on Nothing’s official website, Amazon, and Best Buy Canada. Notably, it will support AT&T and T-Mobile coverage in the U.S., with capabilities for both 4G and 5G networks, which broadens its connectivity options compared to earlier models. Additionally, the Phone 3 release will coincide with the launch of Nothing’s first over-ear headphones, the Headphone 1.
Historically, acquiring Nothing’s flagship phones in the U.S. has been challenging. The previous model, Phone 1, was only accessible through a Beta Membership program, while the Phone 2 was made available for general sale, marking a shift in strategy. Pei has reaffirmed that the Phone 3 will be widely available, confirming this directly during fan interactions.
The company has observed a notable trend of users migrating from established brands to Nothing products. This shift underlines their motivation to attract more customers in the U.S. market, particularly as consumers express a desire for alternatives to the dominant brands. The Phone 3 is expected to leverage Nothing’s aesthetic appeal, characterized by its unique design elements like the customizable Glyph Interface and transparent features, as Pei believes it is the right product for scaling in North America.
