The Fairphone 6 is set to embrace a more sustainable design, reinforcing the company’s dedication to repairability. Leaked renders reveal a modular structure that allows users to easily replace components. This anticipated device will showcase flat edges and a neon-themed power button, available in black, white, and green color options. Rumored to launch on June 25th with a starting price of €549, the Fairphone 6 features a 6.31-inch pOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, and a battery capacity of 4415mAh.
According to the images shared by Roland Quandt via WinFuture, the new design diverges from its predecessor while maintaining familiar color schemes. Notably, the device sports a distinct neon power button reminiscent of previous Pixel models. In terms of design modifications, the new Fairphone replaces the protruding camera visor with individually placed camera systems on the back. The leaked images suggest a back cover secured by screws, allowing users to access and remove components like the battery without relying on glue.
This user-friendly approach extends to the cameras, display, and speaker module, all contributing to the device’s sustainability goals. The device’s specifications are impressive and include 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD up to 2TB. In terms of optics, the Fairphone 6 is expected to feature a 50MP primary lens, a 13MP secondary lens, and a 32MP front-facing camera. Importantly, it may receive Class “A” certification for reparability and durability according to EU standards, solidifying its position as a leader in sustainable mobile technology.
