Recent reports indicate that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 and its Classic variant may see a significant price increase. European retailers have suggested that these new models will cost approximately €50 more than their predecessors. Specifically, the Galaxy Watch 8’s 40mm and 44mm versions are anticipated to rise by €40-50, aligning them more closely with competitors such as Apple and Google.
For reference, the Galaxy Watch 7 launched at a price of $299, while the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic started at $429. If we convert the anticipated price increase from euros to dollars, it’s likely that consumers could expect the Galaxy Watch 8 to start at around $345. Historically, this lineup has seen gradual price bumps, such as the Galaxy Watch 5 increasing $30 over the Watch 4, and the Watch 6 costing $20 more than its predecessor.
Moreover, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic could approach a retail price of just under €500, translating to around $500 in the U.S. However, the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) is expected to remain unchanged at €699 or $649. Leaked images hint at a redesigned square case for the new models, although it appears they will retain the same dimensions as the previous year’s versions.
While these price changes have not been officially confirmed, they seem likely due to current economic conditions, as Samsung navigates U.S. tariffs that may impact its sales. An increase could also render the Galaxy Watch Ultra comparatively less expensive. Additionally, Samsung may explore adding a Health subscription service for enhanced features, though that remains speculative.
The official details are expected to emerge at the Summer Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9, alongside the launch of other Samsung products.
