OnePlus has begun rolling out a new update for the OnePlus Open, bringing the March 2025 security patch through OxygenOS 15. This update focuses on enhancing user data security and introduces several customization options for home screen users.
The latest changes include improvements to the process of resetting the privacy password, ensuring that users can recover access if they forget their credentials. Additionally, those who opt to update will notice enhancements in music player controls for Spotify’s Live Alerts.
Alongside security improvements, the update allows users to resize app folders on their home screens to dimensions of 1×2 or 2×1. Furthermore, the introduction of a 2×2 size option for third-party widgets aims to improve visual consistency.
Users can find this new option by navigating to Settings > Home Screen & Lock Screen > Optimize Widget Appearance. Other notable updates include the ability to rename app groups by long-pressing their shortcuts, improved widget designs for apps like Zomato and Blinkit, and better Wi-Fi network switching and mobile data roaming.
While this update has been announced for users in India initially, it is expected to roll out to other regions, including the U.S., in the coming week. Users are encouraged to check their devices manually for the new patch.
The OnePlus Open previously received a significant update around the holiday season, introducing several enhancements under the Android 15 upgrade. This included smoother animations and features aimed at improving camera performance through AI tools.
The anticipation for the OnePlus Open 2 continues to grow, especially after hints suggesting it will be a slim design akin to the OPPO Find N5. However, details on its release remain uncertain, leaving fans eager for more information.
