Android 16 QPR1 Beta 2.1 has begun its rollout to eligible Pixel devices, incorporating essential bug fixes alongside the June security patch. This update is now accessible for Pixel 6 and newer models through an over-the-air (OTA) process, following the introduction of QPR1 Beta 2. The update, known as “BP31.250523.010,” offers improvements that address several glitches previously reported by users. One of the primary fixes resolves an issue where the approve button in the Device Admin settings was not visible.
Additionally, it corrects the lock screen sounds that continued to play despite being turned off. Other resolved issues include the back button occasionally becoming unresponsive and a bug that caused the phone’s main screen to crash when accessing the app drawer. In addition to user-reported issues, this update includes the much-anticipated June 2025 security patch, providing enhancements in device security. Users enrolled in the Beta program with compatible devices, such as the Pixel 6 and later or Pixel Tablet, will automatically receive the OTA update unless they have opted out of the Beta program.
Google advises all Beta testers to review the latest release notes for any limitations or advisories before proceeding with the installation of the update. Users should remain aware that this test version might still exhibit unexpected behaviors, which can be reported via the official Android Beta Program subreddit, where Google actively monitors feedback. As technology enthusiasts, users can expect continued enhancements and a smoother experience with Android 16 as they participate in this beta testing phase.
