Samsung’s highly anticipated tri-fold device, the Galaxy G Fold, is set to be unveiled at the upcoming Unpacked event on July 9, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. This innovative phone is expected to feature a 10-inch display when fully unfolded and is likely to launch in October, according to recent leaks. The announcement for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 is just around the corner, but it appears that Samsung has more surprises in store. A leak from Setsuna Digital on Weibo suggests that the Galaxy G Fold will be previewed during the same event.
However, those eager to purchase the tri-fold device will need to wait until October for its availability— a pattern that mirrors Samsung’s previous product launches, such as the Galaxy S25 series. In contrast, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are set to be available for consumers as soon as August, following their July launch. While details about the G Fold remain limited compared to its counterparts, earlier reports indicate it could feature a 10-inch display when opened, and a 6.49-inch external screen. It is rumored that the device will adopt a unique “G-shaped fold style,” allowing the screen to fold inwards twice.
Despite the excitement surrounding the tri-fold device, skepticism remains due to the scarcity of detailed information. Unlike the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, which have surfaced with comprehensive specifications and images, the G Fold’s features remain uncertain, aside from its expected design and larger display. Furthermore, it is anticipated that this model will not be S Pen-compatible, as it is not expected to include a digitizer. With July approaching, tech enthusiasts are eager to see if Samsung’s ambitious endeavor will meet expectations.
