Nothing has officially launched its first pair of over-ear headphones, the Nothing Headphone (1), aiming to make a statement not just through sound quality, but also through design. These headphones are marketed as a stylish accessory rather than just another audio device, boasting a fresh aesthetic that appeals to audiophiles and design enthusiasts alike. One of the standout features of the Headphone (1) is its departure from conventional touch controls.
Instead, it incorporates physical buttons, rollers, and paddles, allowing for more tangible interaction and reducing the likelihood of accidental interruptions while listening to music. This thoughtful approach enhances the user experience by prioritizing comfort and practicality. In terms of design, the Nothing Headphone (1) features aluminum accents and plush memory foam ear cushions designed for long-term wear without discomfort.
Collaborating with KEF for audio performance, the headphones are equipped with 40mm drivers, spatial audio capabilities, and adaptive active noise cancellation. These features create an impressive sound experience that closely aligns with the user’s environment. Battery life is another significant highlight, offering up to 35 hours of playback time with active noise cancellation enabled.
Quick charging is also a plus, providing over two hours of use with just a five-minute charge. The inclusion of Bluetooth 5.3 ensures a stable connection with fewer dropouts and allows for seamless switching between multiple devices. Furthermore, the Nothing X app enriches the experience by providing an 8-band equalizer and features like “Channel Hop” for easy access to audio apps.
The custom button can even launch a “Essential Space” feature for capturing spontaneous ideas or reminders. The Nothing Headphone (1) will be available in both black and white for £299/$299/€299, with pre-orders starting on July 4.
