Google has introduced a new feature called Search Live, allowing users to engage in real voice conversations with Google Search. This innovative update lets you speak directly to the Search app, with Google responding to your inquiries in real-time. You can ask questions aloud and receive answers instantly, making the search experience feel more personal and interactive. The new functionality is available in the Google app on both Android and iOS and runs on a customized version of Gemini to facilitate these conversations.
You can easily access the feature by tapping the “Live” icon in the app, enabling an ongoing dialogue where you can continue to browse, text, or engage in other activities simultaneously. Whether you need advice on a recipe, are planning a trip, or simply have a random query, Search Live allows you to converse with Google for quick answers. Although still in testing, this feature is currently available to Labs users in the U.S., with plans for further expansion. One exciting aspect is the future capability to point your phone’s camera at an object and receive immediate information about it, although this camera functionality has not yet launched.
Additionally, there will be a transcript option enabling you to review your search conversations conveniently. You can follow up on previous queries by accessing your AI Mode history, ensuring you can always pick up where you left off. This rollout comes shortly after the introduction of AI Mode across the U.S., signaling Google’s commitment to enhancing user interaction and competing more effectively with AI challengers in the space.
