Google Workspace is set to receive a significant upgrade with the integration of Gemini’s capabilities, thanks to the recent June feature drop. This update enhances various Workspace applications including Gmail, Keep, and Calendar, allowing users to benefit from personalized suggestions based on their Workspace data. One of the standout features of this update is the incorporation of Veo 3, Gemini’s latest AI video generation model, into Google Slides and Vids. This means that users can create high-quality video clips simply by providing a prompt, streamlining the content creation process for projects like DIY tutorials or training videos.
Once a video is generated, users can also make edits to scripts and modify voiceovers as necessary. To further assist in crafting presentations, Google Slides will showcase a variety of pre-designed templates that cater to diverse needs, from project proposals to creative portfolios. In addition, Gemini will enable users to quickly access and manage information across Workspace apps. For example, it can summarize unread emails or assist in retrieving specific documents from Google Drive.
Alongside these features, Gemini Live will facilitate real-time conversations, allowing users to brainstorm ideas or clarify work-related queries with ease. Furthermore, Gemini’s Deep Research capabilities can merge information from uploaded documents and publicly available data, delivering comprehensive reports and key insights. Google has emphasized its commitment to user privacy, clarifying that data from Workspace will not be used to train its Gemini model, and users will maintain control over their privacy settings. Gemini’s integration into Workspace is now available, encouraging users to take advantage of these new features.
